Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Program

The Bright Futures Scholarship is a scholarship that can be used at schools in Florida. All seniors who plan on attending college should complete this application. Even if you do not think you will qualify, you could be considered for other scholarships related to this website. Directions are below.

Creating an Account & Completing the Florida Financial Aid Application
 Go to www.floridastudentfinancialaid.org
 Click on “State Grants, Scholarships & Applications”
 Under “First-Time Applicants” – click on “Create a Student Account”
 Enter in your Demographic information
o If you do not know your Social Security Number – please ask your counselor
o DO NOT ENTER in a guess or fake Social Security numbers
o If we do not have your number on record, you can still complete the application, just leave the SS# and FLE ID blank.
o The FLE ID number is NOT your student number. Please leave this blank.
o Make sure you are entering in your legal name – no abbreviations or nick names
o Graduation Date: May 26th, 2021 (this is not your actual graduation date)
 Enter in your Contact Information
o Required to enter in your street address, city, state, and zip code.
o Please also enter in your phone numbers and personal email addresses (this will need to be entered to help you with password recovery in the future)
 Do NOT enter your student email address. Please use a personal email address
 Click “Submit”. You will immediately be given your login and password. It will only appear on this page for 130 seconds. Please take a picture or screenshot. If you entered an email address you will also be emailed your login information.
 Please click on “Please click here to submit your Florida Financial Aid Application (FFAA)”
 Complete the Demographic Questions Tab (Required)
 Complete the Academic Background Tab (Required)
o County – Orange County
o Select the location of the primary school you are planning on attending. You can also put up to 4 additional schools that you are considering. Choose at least one in-state school as an option. (This is so that the schools can be aware of the scholarships that you are being awarded and they can prepare a more accurate financial package for you to help you determine which school you would like to attend).
 Complete the CSDDV (Children & Spouses of Deceased or Disabled Veterans) Tab if it applies to you
o If on this screen you click “I don’t know” you will be able to submit your application, however, you must come back and update your application prior to the deadline of April 1st to provide the information in order to be evaluated for this specific scholarship
 Complete the JM (Jose Marti) Tab if it applies to you
 Complete the RFS (Rosewood Family Scholarship) Tab if it applies to you
o If on this screen you click “I don’t know” you will be able to submit your application, however, you must come back and update your application prior to the deadline of April 1st to provide the information in order to be evaluated for this specific scholarship
o You are also required to submit the required documentation to be evaluated for this scholarship
 Complete the FFSS (Florida Farmworker Student Scholarship)Tab if it applies to you
o If on this screen you click “I don’t know” you will be able to submit your application, however, you must come back and update your application prior to the deadline of April 1st to provide the information in order to be evaluated for this specific scholarship
 Click on the “Submit/Acknowledgement” Tab (Required)
o Read the instructions and click “Submit”
o If it was submitted correctly, it will receive a pop-up that says “Success”. Then click on “Close”
 The Results Tab will now appear and will show you which programs you are being evaluated for.
o At the bottom of the page, you will see “View Financial Aid Receipt History (FARH)” and you will see here if you have been awarded a scholarship.

 Go to Floridashines.org – click on “Go to College”, “Pay for College”, “Bright Futures Scholarship”, and “Check Now”
