Back-to-School Info

This is Principal Heinz here to welcome you to the 2020-2021 school year. Yes it is going to start a little different but we will continue to soar and show our Darter Pride.  A special welcome to the newly enrolled students and the incoming 9th graders. I know you are all excited to get on campus in a safe manner and we look forward to seeing you but for now we will do our best to welcome you from afar. We have not yet determined the best method for an orientation but when we finalize those plans I will send them out.

Face to Face Students:

Students start on August 21st face covering must be worn. See policy here

Arrival:

ALL school buses will enter through the north campus and get dropped off in the bus loading area.

Parent (Car) Riders-will enter through gate B and will use the sidewalk behind building 1600 and enter the school through the front door near the administration building

Student Drivers-will enter through gate C and will use the walkway near the field house and enter the school through the roll-up (garage) door near the bus loop

Walkers-will enter the school though the front doors near the administration building

When all students enter, they will follow the blue arrows on the ground.  For arrival, students will remain to the left of the sidewalk in the courtyard and walk up the right side of the walkway to enter their classes (classrooms are on the right side of the courtyard)

Class Transition: All students will follow the directional signs and symbols located on the ground, walls
and stairways.  Adults will be present to ensure that students are adhering to the directional
signs.

Lunch:
Students will enter the cafeteria through the side doors located on the far left side of the cafeteria.  Adults will be present to count the number of students entering the cafeteria as well as to enforce social distancing while retrieving their meals. To ensure all students will have a place to sit, we have opened up the courtyard during lunches so students will be able to better social distance while eating. At the end of the lunch period, students will exit the middle doors located in the cafeteria and travel alongside the far right side of the courtyard to enter their classes.

Dismissal:
Students will be dismissed according to the building that their 7th period class is located. An all call will be made dismissing students from their classes. Students please be patient with us as we dismiss building. However, all students will exit the campus through the bus loop doors.
