School Counselors and the Alpha Block served:
A-Cab Stacey Holderfield  108870@ocps.net

Mrs. Holderfield graduated from Webster University with both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Management. Shortly after, she received her certification in School Guidance Counseling. She worked at a college prior for 14 years and has worked at Apopka High School since 2015. She is also a graduate of Apopka High School. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, 2 boys and 3 miniature schnauzers.

Ms. McKinney graduated from Florida A&M University with a Bachelor's degree in Social Work and a minor in Psychology.  She began teaching at the middle school level and has been with OCPS since 2000.  While teaching, she decided to further her education at Nova Southeastern University.  She graduated in 2004 with a Master's degree in School Guidance and Counseling.  Mrs. McKinney is an avid reader who loves to encourage others and make people laugh.  She also enjoys traveling, retail therapy and spending time with family and friends.

Ms. Munyon graduated from Florida State University with a B.S. degree in Rehabilitation Services in 1991 and earned her M.S. and Ed.S. from FSU in Guidance and Counseling in 1993. Ms. Munyon has worked for OCPS since 1994 and joined the Apopka High School staff in 2012.  She lives in Apopka with her family and enjoys reading, going to the beach, and spending time with family and friends.

Ms. Taylor graduated from the University of Florida in 1994 with a Masters and a Specialist degree in School Guidance and Counseling.  She started out working as a Guidance Counselor at Gainesville High School and then later moved to Kentucky where she worked at Jefferson High School.  Before coming to Apopka, Ms. Taylor worded as a counselor at Dr. Phillips High School.  She has been married over 20 years and has three amazing kids.  She enjoys hanging out with her family and running them to all their crazy after school activities and sporting events.  Ms. Taylor joined the Apopka High School staff in 2014.

Leo-Moy  Brittany Nathan  125101@ocps.net

Ms. Nathan graduated from University of Central Florida with her Bachelor’s in Psychology. She then went on to get her Master’s at Nova Southeastern University in Guidance and Counseling. She worked as a Guidance Counselor at an elementary school in Palm Beach County for 3 years, before starting at Apopka High School. In her free time she likes to go to the gym, watch tv, attend football games, travel and spend time with her cavachon, Jasmine.

Ms. Bornstein earned her Bachelor of Science from The University of Florida (GO GATORS) and Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from The University of Central Florida. She is a proud Apopka High School Alumna and came back to OCPS after becoming a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. Ms. Bornstein can be found spending quality time with friends and family, or outside with her dog on a 5K run!

Ms. Collins earned her B.A. degree from Indiana University in 1980, her M.S. degree in School Counseling from the University of Central Florida in 1994, and and Ed.S. degree from National Louis University in 2005 in Educational Leadership.  She has worked with OCPS for over 20 years, 13 of those years as an Elementary School Counselor and 10 years as an Assistant Principal.  Having lived in Apopka for over 20 years, Ms. Collins is excited to return to the area to serve her community!  She has raised two sons who are proud Apopka Blue Darter graduates.  In her time away from work, Ms. Collins enjoys bicycling, reading and spending time with her grandchildren. 

Stu-Z  Denise Palmer  10691@ocps.net
Ms. Palmer earned her B.A. degree in Social Studies Education in 1982 and her M.A. degree in Mental Health Counseling in 1993, both from the University of Central Florida.  She started teaching in Orange County in 1983 and has been a School Counselor at Apopka High School for the past 20 years.  Ms. Palmer is married and has three daughters and one son, all grown now, and five grandchildren.  She enjoys attending a variety of sporting events (especially soccer and football), reading, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.

College & Career   Kristina Roberts  105213@ocps.net
Ms. Roberts is our College and Career Specialist.  She received her B.A. degree from the Ohio State University and went on to earn her M.S. degree from the University of Nevada at Las Vegas.  Prior to working in education, she worked for several non-profit agencies that specialized in issues such as domestic violence, sexual abuse, foster care and group homes.  Ms. Roberts has worked overseas as a school counselor in Guam and Japan.  She joined the Apopka High School staff in 2015.  Ms. Roberts is married to a retired Air Force officer and has two sons.
